I read this to help prepare for the LSAT and I have to say it didn’t help much.

Very long with a lot of eye exercises but nothing really about really increasing comprehension. Didn’t help me or my daughter.

There are better books out there. One important thing that I disliked about this book is that it uses reading exercises that the author chooses; I would have rather read something I choose. I could see why the author would choose the reading exercises – to measure comprehension by giving a multiple choice test – but I think I would have read faster and went through the book a lot quicker if I had to choose what to read.
I have nothing to argue with the content of the book or the recommendation it gives. In fact I was able to double my reading speed – I could have probably tripled it, if I had done all the exercises (see the previous paragraph for reasons why). The book has many exercises on increasing comprehension, visibility range, and minimizing fixation. The only thing not like about the content, is the book’s failure to mention the use of your hand to increase your reading speed, while most other books I have looked at recommend it. I, personally, have found that by using my hand I was able to increase my reading speed, so I am biased about this issue.
Potential buyers should be aware that the book is filled with about 200 pages of exercises, so there are only 200 pages of actual content. Bottom line, this book is good, but it is not the best.

I bought this because I do a fair amount of reading and really enjoy it. And I wanted to read faster so I could read more and learn more. I tried this last year in December, after a month or so, I lost interest. It is something I want to return to, but I just don’t have the time at the moment. We’ll see if that changes. It did seem to be teaching my some things that would increase my reading, and the parts I do remember… it had some valid tips and techniques to help with reading speed. I’m a slow reader by nature, maybe that is why I lost interest (took too long to read
