For those going into the field of special education or educational psychology, specifically those who will have some hand in assessment, this text is an invaluable resource to have in your professional library. It not only defines the various assessment forms, it explains how and why to administer each form as well. Also, for many (including the highly regarded CBA), it gives information to help in creating assessment tools. While I have been told that not much has changed in the new edition, this edition does include information on RTI. Because of that, I would suggest that this edition is worth the extra money over the last edition. Since little change seems to occur between editions, I would suggest getting this one and not worrying so much about the next one– but the RTI information is a must!
