I have the book, and am planning on reading in general. I’ve used the Bible guide by Scripture Union, which this is based on for almost 19 years, and have loved it. The sections I’ve read helped me understand the main point of the passage, and apply it to my life today.

A weeklong Bible-reading marathon on Italian television was launched Oct. 5, 2008, by Pope Benedict XVI as he read “In the beginning” from the first chapter of Genesis. RAI state TV was broadcasting “The Bible Day and Night” marathon featuring more than 1,200 people who took turns reading the Bible out loud over seven days and six nights.
Yet according to research by Scripture Union, eight out of 10 people in the pews today have never read through the entire Bible–and never will. If the Bible is, as Christian leaders and managers maintain, the source book for all wisdom and life–maybe it’s time to put God’s Word front and center.
As you mentor your team member and inspire them with God’s story for the workplace and all of life–it’s possible they need a panoramic taste of Scripture before they’ll make Bible reading a rewarding habit. This book is perfect.
Whitney Kuniholm, president of Scripture Union, has selected 100 Bible chapters (sometimes two chapters) to give readers a taste of the Old Testament (50) and the New Testament (50). His Top-100 list includes chapters from Genesis to Revelation. His challenge: read a selection every day for 100 days. The reading for Day 40 is Psalm 23. Jonah is included on Day 49 and the travels of Paul appear on Day 76. Enjoy the journey–and then, for extra credit, create your own unique Top-100 list.
For more resources–and a simple 100-day or 100-week “Taste-of-the-Bible” reading plan (similar to the book) for your office, your small group or your church, visit the E100 Challenge on the web.
